How to Volunteer with RSVP

This is a quick look at how to navigate the volunteer forms you will need to submit to RSVP.

Registration

  1. Register with RSVP as a volunteer by mail (print out and mail-in your registration).  After completing the registration process, you may want to download the Volunteer Handbook that gives you all of the detail you need about how our program works.

  2. Register online - After completing your online registration, you still need to PRINT, SIGN and MAIL the "Designation of Beneficiary and Photo Release" signature form - as required by law.

  3. As a Volunteer, you are required to sign a Photo Release - we sometimes have photos promoting our programs.

Benefits

  1. Volunteer Insurance Brochure - It does not happen often, but when it does the results can be serious.  If a volunteer is injured, or injures someone else, while performing his or her volunteer duties, we provide insurance that helps cover what your other insurance may not cover.  One of the benefits of volunteering for Mesa County RSVP is that you are provided insurance protection in case these things happen to you. See the attached brochure for the specific details of the FREE volunteer insurance you will be provided.  You must be active with RSVP and turning in your volunteer timesheets for the insurance to be valid.
  2. Mileage Reimbursement Program - If you are struggling to afford the cost of gasoline for your volunteer work, you may want to apply for this program.  Once you apply, you will need to submit a monthly record of miles driven and time donated while volunteering for RSVP.

Reporting Your Volunteer Time

  1. Why you need to report your volunteer time.  Click HERE for a document outlining the reason we require you to report your volunteer time.
  2. Timesheets - Keeping track of your volunteer time helps verify the value of your time, the value of our programs, the need for continued funding for RSVP to keep our programs going.  It's important and a big help to us!  The FREE Volunteer Insurance is only valid if you are active and turning in your volunteer time.  You can either use the traditional paper timesheets that RSVP supplies, or if you like technology, YOU CAN ENTER YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS ON LINE.  Just see the RED box on the left of this screen and click on "Submit Your Hours."  You will need a Username and Password.  If this is your first time using this service and you do not have a letter sent to you by RSVP with your Username and Password, please call RSVP at 970-243-9839 for assistance.
