Western Slope Directors of Volunteers in Agencies

An evolving organization promoting Volunteerism, DOVIA's purpose is to "Promote professionalism in the field of Volunteer Management, advocating for issues concerning Volunteerism and to provide networking and training opportunities for the membership."

Support and Networking

  • Dialogue Before Nine (DBN) -Informal monthly coffees with discussion about a specific topic related to Volunteer Management
  • Network with other volunteer managers

Training

  • Six lunch-time trainings and business meetings a year
  • Conferences

Membership - Dues are for one year and due in January

  • Individual Membership - $35 a year for one agency representative as a member. One vote per agency.
  • Agency Membership - $50 a year per agency which includes three agency members. One vote per agency.
  • Organizational Membership - $100 a year per agency which includes up to ten agency representatives.  One vote per agency.
  • Members get discounts on sponsored events

Meeting Schedule

Monthly Dialogue Before Nine (DBN) Coffee/Business Meetings

We meet at an agency location the First Wednesday of each month 8am-9am for a coffee provided by a host agency.  It is a time for our socializing, networking and discussion about issues regarding volunteer management. These meetings are as listed below in our Meeting Schedule.

Bi-Monthly Training and Networking Meetings

We meet every two months on the third Thursday of the month for two hours.  We usually have an hour of training/learning, followed by an hour for lunch and networking & discussion.  Regular lunch meetings are $10 for each member attending and $15 for non-members.  For special events such as our November "Thanks for Giving Luncheon" we charge a higher per person rate.
